fiji
6 nights at the Matamanoa Island Resort. it seems like a really great way to start, especially after i am sure what will be a crazy wedding week. the rest of the trip has lots of tours and such, so this will be a good opportunity for us to relax and enjoy the start of our married life.
Matamanoa Island is a small, intimate and secluded Fiji Resort set in the beautiful Mamanuca Islands. The Island boasts a volcanic cone jutting out of the turquoise/aqua blue waters of this unspoilt area of the Fiji Islands. Clad with dense bush and palm trees, the brilliance of the vegetation contrasts magnificently with the white curved sandy beach and pristine coral reefs. Created for those who want to forget the pressures of their business or busy lifestyle or for those who dream of peace and tranquility. In an effort to achieve this special atmosphere, Matamanoa Island Resort has adopted a year round policy of not permitting children under the age of 12 years. Matamanoa Island can offer you total relaxation or a wide range of leisure activities and cultural excursions. Swim in the fresh water pool or in the beautiful Pacific Ocean, play tennis or sip a cocktail at the Bar as you watch the sun set and take all the time you need to discover the magic of this beautiful Island.
sydney
next will be 3 nights in Sydney. i've have this fascination with australia for the longest time, so i'm extremely excited to finally be seeing it, and grateful to have our lives aligned so that we'll be seeing it for the first time together. we picked two tours in sydney, which will give us some time to explore the city, as well. the first tour is a coffee cruise around the harbor, and the second one is climbing the harbour bridge!
This cruise shows you what public and private Sydney are really all about. We cover the Main Harbour attractions such as the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and Fort Denison before cruising the magnificent upper reaches of Middle Harbour where palatial waterfront homes, parks, beaches and marinas show Sydney life at its best. The cruise includes a light morning or afternoon tea to enjoy while you are on the water.
The Bridge Climb is the original experience. It takes you along catwalks, up ladders, and steadily to the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Experience the satisfaction of conquering the upper arch of the Bridge while taking in city surrounds, the World Heritage listed Sydney Opera House, the harbour and the Bridge itself beneath your feet.
cairns
our trip will conclude with 4 nights in cairns at the great barrier reef staying at the Kewarra Beach Resort. we picked a few tours here, as well. one is a day excursion to the outer reef which, since i wanted to be a marine biologist between ages 5 - 18, is a dream. we'll also be taking a hot air balloon ride, and spending some time in kuranda, with a train ride back to the hotel. we'll get a final day of rest before starting the long journey back home as a well rested, well traveled married couple.
For your experience of a lifetime, Quicksilver's wavepiercing catamarans and friendly crew will take you to a reef at the very edge of Australia's Continental Shelf, to an underwater world that is a dazzling kaleidoscope of colour and brilliance... Agincourt Reef, a magnificent ribbon reef where you can experience first hand the magic that is the Great Barrier Reef.
Experience the fun & unique sensation of being in a hot air balloon flying gently high above the Atherton Tablelands, Australia. The balloon takes off from Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands. Enjoy the picturesque landscape at sunrise, enjoy 30 minutes floating in your hot air balloon, time to really breathe in the wide-open spaces! We have Australia's largest fleet of hot air balloons and a fun and highly trained crew to maximise the fun of your balloon flight. It's just like a balloon festival, every day!
